ORGANICSTONE FEATURES TioCem® FOR PHILLIPPA PROBERTS ‘AQUA LIFE’ GARDEN

Second year at Tatton Park for Organicstone

Following the Silver Gilt medal success for Phillippa's 'Forest Fusion' garden last year, Organicstone are proud to have been invited by Phillippa once again to provide their unique recycled flooring made from 100% sustainable recycled aggregates and using earth friendly manufacturing processes. Seen as a 'rising star' by the RHS at this year's Chelsea Flower Show, Phillippa is taking this year's Tatton Park Show Garden to a larger scale design and at the same time creating innovative features which can be recreated in smaller spaces.

Designer Inspiration

Phillippa's 'Aqua Life' garden has been designed to work as part of a large landscape design where natural water features can be incorporated into modern design. The idea of using a natural swimming pool, which blends seamlessly into the organic environment, compliments Organicstone's philosophy of using sustainable materials. The central paved area through the garden was the perfect opportunity to show their new 40x40cms Stonewaves Modern range in a bespoke colour specially made for Phillippa's design. From a sample of Phillippa's chosen gravel, Organicstone took inspiration from the warm tones of the red sandstone from Uluru, Australia to compliment with the natural tones in the 'Aqua Life' design. Following success of the 60x60cms Module, the new 40x40cms Stonewaves Modern 'Longwave and Shortwave' Border with Bullnose and Straight Edge options make a perfect accessory to the standard square pavers, with a range of accessories inspired from indigenous Aboriginal Arts to be launched later this year.

TioCem® makes a 'Grand Entrance' at Tatton Park

Hot on the heels of two prestigious projects using TioCem® at this year's Chelsea Flower Show, Organicstone have used the 'pollution busting cement' again on Phillippa's Modern Rendered 40x40cms Pavers with special Bull Nose Pool Copings. The Gold Medal winning Chelsea Garden 'Sail for Gold' by Hillier Nurseries using Stonewaves Modern 60x60cms and the George Harrison garden using their new Engineered Marble had given Organicstone the opportunity to work with TioCem® on its launch by Castle Cement in the UK. TioCem®, which is a new cement that decomposes air pollutants and uses a photocatalytic reaction based on patented technology. TioCem® offers the chance to improve air quality in urban spaces, combining Organicstone’s mission to provide 'greener, cleaner concrete'.

Permeable and easy-to-lay Mull Cobble

The Mull Cobble will be used as a feature area in front of the natural swimming pool in the garden and creates a more interesting surface texture over gravel. With new legislation in October 2008 with impermeable materials requiring planning permission, will mean that permeable pavers will be the preferred option. It is hoped that the new planning regulations, will create a shift towards the use of the more environmentally-friendly permeable solutions. The Organicstone Mull Cobble with its castellated sides and recommended Lime based granular pointing provides a simple, low cost solution which is stylish and ecofriendly. Organicstone will launch their new Modern Cobble in January 2009.
