The founder members of organicstone, Sue Jones and her two
daughters, Vicky and Georgina came together to create a range of exterior
flooring that brings together design and concrete sustainability, based from
their warehouse in Gloucester Docks. Sue Jones with over 25 years experience in
industrial design, who was responsible for creating in 1990 the first
commercial circular paving design, conceived the idea in 2001 for Stoneislands
and Stonewaves - sensual, curved sculptural flooring for
exterior spaces in stone composites. Drawn from the inspiration of organic
architecture, these beautiful, free flowing forms are in harmony with nature.
The designs are sympathetic with the human, body mind and spirit and with the
creative freedom to express themselves through natural curves.
Organicstone are very proud to announce that they have been given the first
opportunity to use Tiocem is a new cement that decomposes air pollutants, just
launched in the UK by Castle Cement. It uses a photocatalytic reaction based on
patented technology, Tiocem offers the chance to improve air quality in our
cities.
The Tiocem will be used in a thin layer on the top surface of the Stonewaves
flooring and hand finished to create a modern rendered finish, keeping to their
commitment to use products with awareness to the environment. All organicstone
products are British Hand-made with 100% recycled granite and using earth
friendly manufacturing processes. Tiocem is available on request at an
additional cost to standard ranges.
More than organic inspired designs and shaped flooring, our philosophy is to
use low energy; earth-friendly attitudes towards manufacturing techniques in
combination with 100% recycled aggregates and low cementitious materials,
mitigating environmental pollution.

-
Calcium Carbonate (Limestone Powder).
Energy :-
-
Use of Low energy moulding and manufacturing processes.
-
No use of heat in curing process.
-
S.C.C system (self compacting concrete) using the latest technology super
plasticizers for minimum energy consumption and minimal use of water.
Organic binders :
-
providing increased flexural strength, impact resistance and durability with
